2022 Annual Cookout

SVAR members and guests enjoyed a fantastic evening of food, groovy music, camaraderie, and fun at the “Get your Groove on: Rocking in the 60s" SVAR Annual Members Cookout. Thank you to Christy Bowman, Committee Chair, and the rest of the Cookout Committee for all of their hard work to make this event a success!

We had 7 teams participate in our annual charity corn hole tournament benefitting the James House where Corey Sobey and Nick Allen took home the win!

REALTOR® Social Outing

The Southside Virginia Association of REALTORS® hosted a SVAR Social Outing on Friday, May 20, 2022 and Saturday May 21, 2022 in Old Towne Petersburg. Old Towne Petersburg welcomed area REALTORS®, who proudly wore specially designed T-shirts for the event. SVAR was proud to support the local businesses and show their community support. SVAR members enjoyed the networking time with each other, the beautiful weather and great food.

Welcome to Hollywood: Glitz and Glam!

Cheers to “Welcome to Hollywood: Glitz and Glam” - that is, SVAR’s Fall Fashion Show champagne brunch! The fashions were fancy and the fare divine as members and guests gathered today to raise money for The James House in a very glamorous way!

2021 Charity Golf Tournament

What a glorious day for a golf tournament! The Country Club of Petersburg was the place to be on October 5th for SVAR’s sixth annual Charity Golf Tournament. The course was beautiful, the camaraderie great and the competition friendly as 19 teams vied for the win.

REALTOR® Night Out

After a long wait through a tough pandemic year, the Southside Virginia Association of REALTORS® was happy to host a REALTORS® Night Out on Thursday, May 20, 2021 in Old Towne Petersburg. Four restaurants—Alexander’s Fine Food, DJ’s Rajun Cajun, Maria’s Old Town 21, and Wabi Sabi—welcomed area REALTORS®, who wore specially designed T-shirts for the event celebrating the centennial of the association. (The Southside Virginia Association of REALTORS® was chartered on April 27, 1921.) SVAR was proud to support the local economy and show their community involvement. Nearly 40 REALTORS® interacted (safely!) with the public while enjoying the networking time with each other, the beautiful weather and great food.

2018 Charity Golf Tournament

SVAR couldn't have asked for a prettier day or course for its third annual Charity Golf Tournament to benefit the Colonial Heights First Responders Fund. Participants were all smiles as they relished the fun and sun, racked up prizes, and broke bread twice at the Country Club of Petersburg. 2017 REALTOR® Safety Day

Safety first ... safety always. Or, as SVAR Education Committee chair Al Wells said, "Better to be alive and paranoid than dead and not having trusted your intuition." Today members attended the association's Safety Day for cyber, social media and personal safety tips for REALTORS, with expertise provided by Officers John Vasquez and Harold Shreves of the Prince George County Police Department and Ryan Cochran, chief information security officer for TowneBank and its companies. 2017 Charity Golf Tournament

The mercury doesn't lie ... it was a hot one, but in more ways than one! SVAR's second annual Charity Golf Tournament benefitting Homes For Our Troops - held yesterday at Dogwood Trace Golf Course in Petersburg - sizzled with fun thanks to a healthy dose of competition among the 20 or so teams, food, prizes and great cause. Thank you to the event committee and volunteers for all of their work to make it a success, and to generous sponsors Harris & Associates, Long & Foster, VCB and Old Republic Home Protection (all Platinum); 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty, Weichert Realtors Brockwell & Portwood and Presidential Mortgage Group (all Gold); Fraternal Order of Eagles and HMS Home Warranty (both Silver); and 1st Choice Realty, Heritage Custom Cabinets, Adolph's, C.F.S. and Village Coin Shoppe (all Hole In One).
